Vols-Staff Admin Settings
Vols-Staff Admin Settings enable you to customize what information is displayed regarding Vols-Staff profiles and enable you to turn on or off features related to Vol-Staff profiles. These settings apply to all Vols-Staff user profiles in your system,
How to Access Vols-Staff Admin Settings
- Log into iCarol as a user with Admin security level
- Click Admin Tools in the left hand menu
- Click the Vols-Staff tab
Available Vols-Staff Admin Settings
Aliases
- Allow people to specify an alias for calls and chats
- This setting places an additional text box in Vols-Staff profiles to enter an alias. If used, the Alias name will show to help seekers in Live Chat conversations instead of the First name of the Vol-Staff
- Only show alias (not real names) in statistics
- On the Analysis tab of Statistics, in the Contact Records and Vols-Staff filter, the Vols-Staff filter will show the Alias name, not the First/Last name of the Vol-Staff
- Only show alias (not real names) in system emails
- When iCarol sends emails to Vols-Staff, if the Vol-Staff name is shown in the email, it will show the alias name instead of the First/Last name
Privacy
- "You may share my info" checkbox is visible
- When selected, places a setting in the Security section of Vols-Staff profiles labeled 'Enable profile privacy'. If checked, if a Vol-Staff who is not an Admin or Supervisor views the Vol-Staff profile, only the name of the Vol-Staff will appear - all other details in the profile will be hidden
- "You may share my info..." checkbox initially set to: (Selected/Not selected)
- When a new Vol-Staff profile is created, the 'Enable profile privacy' box will be checked or not checked by default
- Restrict Gender and Pronoun Options
- Enabling this setting will restrict gender options to Male, Female and Unspecified in Vols-Staff profiles. All existing Vols-Staff users with a non-binary gender selection will be updated to Unspecified, and the Pronouns field will be completely hidden and cleared. This setting can be enabled or disabled at any time by an Admin. Each time it is enabled, all affected Vols-Staff records will have their non-binary gender and pronoun selections cleared. When disabled, the full set of gender options and the pronouns field will be restored, allowing users to reselect their preferences.
Photos in Volunteer and Staff profiles
- Photos are visible from uncertified computers
- If selected, a Vol-Staff who logs into iCarol from an uncertified computer can see photos of Vols-Staff that have been uploaded when viewing the Vol-Staff page, the profile of a specific Vol-Staff, and chat board messages posted by them
- Photos can be seen by (Everyone, Provider Portal users and up, Trainees and up, Standards and up, Enhanceds and up, Supervisors and up, Admins)
- When set, only Vols-Staff at the security level set or higher can see the photos uploaded to Vols-Staff profiles
Hide info from people who are not Admins or Supervisors
Allows you to hide various components (as listed) of all Vols-Staff profiles from being seen by anyone who does not have Admin or Supervisor security. These settings will be enforced regardless of whether the privacy setting ("You may share my info...") is chosen for that profile or not.

- Enable Internal Chat for Everyone
- Clicking this link will update the 'Advanced Security Settings' of all Vols-Staff to check the setting 'Allowed to access Internal Chat'. If you do not want to give access to everyone, you will need to manually update the Advanced Security Settings of those you would like to enable Internal Chat for.
