Setting Preferred Language/Date Format 

Users of iCarol can now set their preferred language on the Volunteer and Staff Members profile.  The Preferred Language setting controls how date and currency values are displayed throughout iCarol, including but not limited to:
  1. call reports that have a custom text field configured with 'date' as the type
  2. standard date field in call reports
  3. date fields in resource records
The following are the available 'Preferred Language' options, and their related date and currency format:

Periods (ex. $299.00)
English (Canada)
DD/MM/YYYY (ex. 12/04/2015 = April 12, 2015)

English (Great Britain)
DD/MM/YYYY (ex. 12/04/2015 = April 12, 2015)
Commas (ex. $299,00)

To change a user's Preferred Language setting, complete the following steps:
  1. As a user with permission to edit a vols-staff profile, Click 'Vols-Staff' from the left side menu
  2. Use the filter and search tools, or find the name of the user in the list who's profile you wish to edit; click on the users first name once you locate their profile
  3. At the top of the page click the button to 'Edit' their profile
  4. On the Profile tab, use the 'Preferred Language' drop-down list to indicate the user's preferred language and date formatting
  5. At the top of the page click the 'Save' button
How to change your system setting for Regional Formatting for Exports 
Data exported information from iCarol requires a system default for how to format data in exports, which you can set by completing the following steps:
  1. As an Admin level user, click 'Admin Tools' from your left side menu
  2. Click the 'Setup' tab at the top of the page
  3. Under the Regional Formatting for Exports section select your preferred language to receive data exports in
  4. Click the 'Save all settings' button
