Admins/Resource editors can post Resource News items to the main Resource page for other users to see. This allows you to convey new and special information about your Resources in iCarol so everyone can be kept aware of what is important there.
Although useful on a daily basis, we think this will be particularly helpful in a crisis or disaster situation, when information moves fast and timely updates are critical.
To enable this feature: (must be an Admin)
- Go to Admin Tools
- Go to Resource Tab
- Select “Enable the Resources News Items so that resource editors can post news to the main Resources page”
- Click Save all settings button at the top of the page
To create a Resource News Item
- Go to the Main Resources Page
- Click on the link "Post a new Resource news item"
- Enter a subject
- Enter a detailed message in the large text box
- The message will appear on the main resource page
- Optional: You can post this message to Twitter by selecting the check box
- Click on Save
Edit & Delete Resource News Item:
- Go to the Main Resources Page
- Click on the "(edit)" link listed below the subject of the News item
- To edit: Make changes to the subject or detailed message text and click "Save"
- To delete: Click on the "Delete" button
- Confirm Deletion
