Resource Field Choices

Resource Field Choices enables resource managers to create a preset list of choices for some of the standard fields in resource records.  This can help prevent typing mistakes, adhere to specific data entry and style guides, and improve resource data quality.  These standard fields include:
  1. Application Process
  2. Bus Service
  3. Capacity
  4. Coverage
  5. Custom Phone Number Names
  6. Disabilities Access
  7. Documents Required
  8. Eligibility
  9. Fees
  10. Hours of Operation
  11. Languages Offered
  12. Licenses and Accreditations
  13. Normal Wait Time
  14. Service Capacity
  15. Source of Funding
To access the Field Choices tool:
  1. Log into iCarol as an Admin, Supervisor, or a user who has the Advanced Security settings to manage resource records
  2. Click Resources in the left hand menu
  3. Click the 'Manage Resources' link in the upper right hand corner
  4. Under the Listings section, click the link for 'Field choices'
To create a list of choices for one of the standard fields listed:
  1. Click the name of the field you would like to create a list for
  2. In the text box under 'Enter a new choice for this field', type the choice
  3. Optional: click the box next to 'In addition to any field choices below, users can enter free text'
  4. Click the 'Save' button
  5. Repeat for all choices to be added


To delete a field choice:
  1. Click the name of the field you want to delete a choice from
  2. Click the choice name from the 'Current choices for this field' list
  3. Click the 'Delete' button
To assign a Field Choice in a resource record:
  1. Create a new resource record or edit an existing resource record
  2. Next to the name/label for the standard field, click the drop-down menu
  3. Select the choice from the list
  4. Save the resource record
